Today’s instalment is focussed on Cheval Place in Knightsbridge, home to several charming dress agencies. A dress agency is where individuals take their designer clothing items they wish to sell. The dress agency sells the clothes on their behalf and in return, when they are sold, the individual pays them 50% commission. If you are into designer clothing but have a limited budget, I would highly recommend these dress agencies as they often have bespoke, vintage pieces at very reasonable prices and have frequent sales. Growing up, my mother took seasonal trips with me to Cheval Place and as I got older I would get the odd piece for myself too. Now, as my collection has grown, most of my Holy Grail wardrobe pieces are the gems I found in these little boutiques.
My particular favourite is Pandora which is the largest on the street. The shop is beautifully organised (which thrills me) and their stock ranges from the cult classic Birkin to really unique, less well known designers whose works I love to discover for my wardrobe.
